Home-Start in Greater Manchester
When parents can’t cope children suffer, the impact of which can last a lifetime.
There are many reasons for this including poverty, poor mental health, isolation and illness and disability. And this is where Home-Start steps in…
Home-Starts in Greater Manchester have been working in local communities for almost two decades, providing emotional and practical support to parents and children in their own homes, through an army of locally trained parent volunteers.
Home-Start volunteers walk alongside families empowering them to be the best possible parents they can be, until the time comes when the family is ready to go it alone. Their non-judgemental and confidential approach means many hard- to- reach families will accept help from Home-Start; which stops them from reaching crisis point; meaning better futures and better outcomes for children.
We could do so much more with your help!
Across Greater Manchester parents and their children are in desperate need of support. In 2017 life can be hard for lots of families who are struggling to cope with many difficult issues that life has thrown at them.
As you will see here, our volunteers are as diverse as the families we support, male, female, young, old and from all cultures and backgrounds; what they have in common in the desire to help a family local to them and by doing so improving the life chances of Greater Manchester’s children.
Please get behind Home-Start in Greater Manchester’s #thiscouldbeyou campaign and join our volunteer army.
